How to use: Create searchable PDF with online OCR

Open the PDF in the editor, find the OCR controls and choose the document language. Run recognition on the required pages and export the searchable PDF. Test search and text selection in the final file.

Before you start

OCR estimates characters from an image. Low resolution, tilted pages and handwriting can reduce accuracy. Review names, dates and amounts; recognition does not guarantee a faithful transcription.

Frequently asked questions

Which languages can I recognize?

The available OCR uses Portuguese and English models. Choose the language matching the content to improve recognition.

Does OCR turn a PDF into an editable text document?

It adds searchable text to scanned pages. It does not automatically reconstruct a text document with the same layout or guarantee full editing.
